I opted for the Freedom Art - Low Mount Base for Tokyo Marui AKS74U over a traditional AK Side mount solely due to the fact I want to still be able to side fold the stock. This optics mount replaces the complete rear iron sight assembly. It's a straight forward install using 4 replacement screws and attached directly to the top cover.
